However, she did point that it's not an ideal idea to rock a younger baby because it can set the stage for bad habits that will affect later sleep patterns.

The Tutti Bambini CoZee

The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning crib for bed designed with a secure night's rest in mind. It features a drop-side rail that is able to be easily lifted to feed your child during the night without disturbing them or causing them to get out of bed. This is great for mothers who breastfeed! It's also lightweight and easy to move around during naps or when traveling.

It's made from soft materials and has breathable mesh sides to promote airflow. It's available in oak and charcoal and has a variety of melange fabric options that are compatible with all decor styles. Anna found it to be sturdy and secure when attached to her bed with the legs securely snapping into the frame and the zips securely secured to ensure baby safety. It took her around 10 minutes to assemble it and didn't require tools, with clear instructions and a video or support number available if you have any issues.

The CoZee crib has all the features you would expect from a crib to your bedside, including the ability to attach it to your existing bed with a stay-in-place connection system. It also has six height settings. In addition, there is an incline feature that can be used to aid babies with congestion or reflux. It can also be washed by a machine - a must for all the spills, vomit, and snot that come with a newborn baby!

The CoZee is a great option for keeping your child in the first six months of learning to fall asleep independently. It can be used as a cot, changing station and toddler bed. It can even be converted into a sofa bed by the addition of an extension pack. And while it isn't able to feed your baby bedside sleeper, or magically make them sleep it will gently rock them to send them off!

The Chicco Next2Me Magic

This is one of Chicco’s more expensive options. It does have numerous great features. It can be used as either a side-sleeper, or a standalone crib and is suitable for infants from birth to six months. It is easy to open and close the side panel with the new mechanism. It's also more flexible than its predecessor, with 11 different height levels as well as feet that retract to place under any bed.

Our testers loved the ease of use offered by the side panel, which can be moved upwards and downwards with just a single push of a switch. This was an enormous help in feedings at night as it meant that they could reach into and take their baby away without disturbing them up.

The side panel can be lifted by itself however it isn't recommended since it increases the risk of your baby falling out of the cot. But, the patented safety locking mechanism means that it will only remain in place if it is connected to the bed properly. This is a great feature to have in place for peace of mind, especially when you're breastfeeding and need frequent night feeds.

Telescopic legs permit the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, such as divan bases and beds with drawers. It features a tilting feature for babies with reflux, as well as a rocking function to help calm them after eating. It's also extremely spacious and provides excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.

The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our testers, despite the lengthy instruction manual. It's heavier than some of the other side-sleepers, however it's very portable and can be moved from room room easily. Its dual-view mesh side panels and breathable, hypo-allergenic airflow mattress increase airflow to keep your baby cool and comfortable. The gentle slope can help reduce colic and reflux. The zip-down side lets you to feed your baby or soothe them during the night.

The conversion kit for cots (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear instructions and everything you need to get started. It took us around an hour to put together and was reasonably straightforward. The only downside to the instructions was that some images did not have captions. This made it difficult to follow the instructions. However, overall it was a straightforward procedure and the quality of the materials used was high.

In co-sleeping mode we discovered the Shnuggle Air to be an ideal choice for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a C-section, because it lets them comfortably reach out to their baby for feeding and comfort without having to leave their bed.
