Bedside Cot Reviews

A twin bedside cot crib (also called a bassinet) is placed next to your bed, so you can be able to provide care to your baby during feedings at night and nappy changes without needing to get out of the bed. These cribs are fantastic for helping to build independence in your child as they grow more comfortable in their own bed.

The Joie Roomie Glide

The Joie Roomie Glide is a bedside crib that lets parents co-sleep with their newborn whilst ensuring they're sleeping safely. Its smooth gliding motion can help calm your baby, and its innovative features allow you to keep an eye on your child without leaving bed.

The cot's slide-away side panel raises and lowers at the touch of a button, making it easy to reach in and soothe a crying baby at night. It comes with 11 height adjustments to fit nearly any mattress size, and adjustable folding feet that ensure it is at the right level.

In terms of safety the cot is padded and has mesh sides to provide more ventilation, while its mattress is made of high-density foam to provide extra protection. It's also washable so that you can keep it clean. It also comes with a fitted sheet that's suitable for use with the cot.

The Roomie Glide, unlike some other cribs for bed, is compatible with a wide range of beds, including divans. This is due to the clips and straps which connect to it. It can also be used as a standalone crib if it is not attached to your bed, and it's packed with amazing features created with the bonding of parents and children in mind.

One thing to keep in mind is that although this crib is ideal for infants, it will not last long after your baby turns six months old, which means you'll require larger cots. But, in general Roanna found that the Joie Roomie Glide was a excellent purchase and she especially liked its elegant design.

The Roomie Glide is available to purchase at John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna thought was a reasonable price for a cot featuring such innovative features. She also liked how it appeared in the bedroom and thought that the grey shade is a good fit for modern homes. She did mention that it's not an ideal idea to rock a baby when it's younger as it can cause an unhealthy sleep pattern that can be difficult to overcome later.

The Tutti Bambini CoZee

The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning bedside crib designed with a safe night's sleep in mind. It has a drop-side rail that can be easily removed for feedings at night without having to disturb your little one or get up It's perfect for mothers who are breastfeeding! It's also light and easy to move around during naps or when traveling.

It's made from soft materials and features mesh sides that are breathable to help promote airflow. It's available in oak and charcoal, with a range of melange fabric options that work well with a variety of decor styles. Anna discovered that it was sturdy and secure after being affixed to her bed. The legs clicked into place and the zippers were secure to ensure safety. It took Anna around 10 minutes to put together and didn't require any tools. There are clear instructions along with a video and customer service number should you encounter any issues.

Alongside the usual features you'd expect from a crib for your bed such as the ability to be connected to your bed using a stay-in-place connection system and six levels of height, the CoZee has an additional incline option which can be used to help alleviate reflux or congestion in infants. It's also machine washable, a must with all the dribble, vomit and snot that comes with having a newborn!

The CoZee is a great option for keeping your child close during their first six months of acquiring the ability to sleep independently. It can be used as a crib, changing station or toddler bed. It can even be converted into a sofa bed with the addition of an extension pack. While it will not feed your baby or magically put them to sleep it will gently rock them and send them off!

The Chicco Next2Me Magic

This is one of Chicco's more expensive options. However, it comes with many great features. It's designed as an individual side sleeper or standalone crib, and is suitable from birth to six months. It has a new mechanism to open and close the side panel, and is easy to use even with one hand. It's also more flexible than the previous model, with 11 different height settings as well as retractable legs for a secure fit underneath any bed.

Our testers were impressed with the simple access to the side panel, which can be moved up and down by pressing one button. This was an enormous help during night time feeds, as it meant they could easily reach in and take their baby away without disturbing them up.

It is possible to lower the side panel it's own, however this is not recommended because it increases the chance that your child will fall out of the cot. The safety locking system guarantees that the side panel will stay down if it is properly attached to the parent's mattress. This is an excellent feature to have in place for peace of mind, especially if you're breastfeeding and require frequent feedings at night.

Telescopic legs allow the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, such as divan bases as well as beds with drawers. The Shnuggle Air bedside crib vs cot crib is a great choice when you're looking for an infant crib that will grow with your child. It's a sleeper crib that attaches securely to your bed and can be transformed into a stylish cot when your baby is old enough. Perfect for nighttime feedings and strengthening your bond with your newborn.

Unlike some other models of bedside cot for twins cribs The Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. The mesh side panels with dual-view and airflow mattress that is hypoallergenic and breathable increase airflow and keep your baby comfortable and cool. The gentle incline helps alleviate colic and reflux. The zip-down side lets you to feed your baby or soothe them during the night.

The cot conversion kit (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear directions and everything you need to get started. It took us about an hour to assemble and was fairly simple to put together. The only drawback to the instructions was that some images did not have captions. This made it difficult for us to follow the instructions. However, it was a simple process and the quality of the materials employed was of a high standard.

The Shnuggle Air is a great option for mothers who are breastfeeding or have had C-sections. It allows them to reach out and hold their baby to comfort them and feeding without having to leave their bed. It's also great for those who wish to avoid the difficulty of getting in and out of a traditional cot, or placing their child down to sleep.

The gliding motion was found to be extremely helpful in lulling babies into sleep after feedings at night or midday. The drop-down side is also accessible to feed or soothe babies in the middle of the night and was a major draw for our exhausted test moms. The Joie Roomie Glide is a modern and stylish crib that doesn't rock, nor does it come with extra features like an audio system.
