1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we tested the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features, so it may get stuck on things like socks or power cords and it can have difficulty navigating across surface transitions like from hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends that you tidy up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dust bin and filter clean so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station and automatically empties its dirt into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning the area where it began. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes 3 hours to charge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and direct your robot broom by voice or via the app.

The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin which removes a major source of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also impressed by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start or stop cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. After connecting, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is a sports car. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households however, it can also fit in well next to the coffee table or the bookshelf, that you can spin around like an enchanted wand.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery, which produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have lots of money to spend on an expensive robot. It's capable of sucking up all debris types and sizes during our tests, and often goes over the same areas several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. As a result, it may get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and often will run out of battery before making it back to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects in that it has fewer components that need regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is better at moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges quicker.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It also feels better-built and has a stronger motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of automation options.
