Best Lightweight Single Stroller

Travel strollers aren't any lighter or more compact than this. Its sleek design makes it easy to fold into an elegant rectangle shape, and the wheels are easier to turn than others.

The stroller also has a large storage area under the seat as well as a shoulder strap that makes it easier to carry around when you're not pushing it. But the canopy adjustment can cause lots of noise which might disturb a sleeping toddler.

1. Contours Itsy

The Contours Itsy is a compact stroller that has a variety of features for its size. The basket in the back of the seat is spring loaded, meaning that you can push it down to put bags for diapers or backpacks in, and it will open up to secure the contents. It also has a tray for accessories for children as well as an adjustable reclining seat back pad, which are more options than you typically see on a stroller with a light weight.

It also has a canopy that you can open and shut to get the level of sun protection you desire. The handlebars are height-adjustable to ensure a comfortable fit in four different positions. We weren't too impressed by its performance on rough surfaces. We found that the wheels and suspension did not do a good job of absorbing shocks and bumps.

It's a great stroller for travel because it comes in a box fully assembled, with just few steps to get it in use. The seat can be moved forward and backward to adjust the recline, which is pretty much flat. It's a cinch to fold and unfold, thanks to two buttons on the frame. It also fits into the most convenient carrying bag when not in use. It's actually one of the smallest strollers we tested and it easily can meet the requirements of many airlines for gate-checking or storage in the cabin on planes. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus

This stroller is a great option for those looking for a stroller that is lightweight for travel. It has all the features parents desire in a stroller, such as all-terrain wheels and front suspension for an easy ride. It's also very light with a weight of less than 12 pounds. It has a simple fold that can be folded with one hand and a self-standing fold. It even has an adult tray and a child tray and two cup holders.

Its build quality isn't very high, and it did not do well in our maneuverability test. It has a flexible frame which makes pushing it across rough surfaces feel like lifting weights. It may be fine if you only use the stroller on sidewalks with paved surfaces. However, for the majority of people, it's not ideal.

Cloud Plus Cloud Plus has a three-tier extended canopy and a peek-a-boo window for additional sun protection. The multi-position seat can be used by children up to 50 pounds. It also has a five-point safety restraint. This is a great feature for older toddlers who have outgrown infant car seats.

It's compact and folds up in a buggy single step. It is able to be collapsed by pressing an appropriate button. It also comes with a brake that is triggered by the foot and easy to adjust and release.

However, the handle is lower than other strollers we tested and some parents may be uncomfortable for extended durations. It does have an adjustable handle lock that keeps it in place when open however. This is an excellent feature if you plan to use the stroller on uneven or muddy terrain.

3. Munchkin Sparrow

The Munchkin Sparrow stroller is the ideal travel stroller for parents who are always moving. This ultra-compact stroller can be folded up and down with ease and can be tucked away in the overhead compartments of planes or trunks in amusement parks (no need to fret about parking fees). It is also equipped with a simple-zip carrying bag that can be easily stored. It can be used right from birth using the infant car seat adapter and offers a good amount of coverage in the sun by way of its canopy (though not as much as the Nuna TRVL or Uppababy Minu V2). The only downside is that some parents consider the design to be uninspiring and cheap.

The BabyZen Yoyo+ stroller is more expensive than the other lightweight single stroller cheap strollers. It was designed specifically for urban living and luxurious travel. It's one of the smallest strollers to fold (and includes a convenient carry case), and it has a nice amount of storage space, including the cup holder. The seat is comfortable for the child and the adult and it reclines to a nearly flat position. This is the only stroller on our list that has an adapter for car seats that can allow it to be used with a newborn. The handlebar cannot be adjusted and could be an issue for parents who are short.

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 may not be the most lightweight stroller, but it is packed with wonderful features that make traveling with children easier. The spacious seat reclines into a flat position and has extra padding to make those airplane napping sessions more comfortable. The extendable canopy offers excellent sun protection, and the tray is spacious with plenty of storage. It also features a footrest with springs that doubles as a handle when it's folded. The footrest is susceptible to damage from baggage handlers.

4. Uppababy Minu V2

Uppababy Minu V2 is a stylish stroller with a premium design and quality. Its compact size makes it easy to maneuver narrow sidewalks and tight spaces, but its sturdy construction means it can take on rough terrain without compromising your child's comfort. The spring-action suspension on the rear and front ensures an even more comfortable ride and its durable materials ensure that it will endure the wear and tear of daily use. It can also be enlarged to accommodate other accessories, such as baby car seat.

In our tests, the Minu was a breeze to fold and move around, even with a baby in hand. Its squat, almost square fold, that folds into thirds, is among the most straightforward in our tests and allows it to easily be tucked away in overhead compartments of planes or in public transportation. It also features an automated brake with a color coded single-action that is simple to use.

The seat reclines in a variety of positions, and the leg rest can be adjusted with one hand, making it a breeze to find your child's perfect position. The UPF 50+ hood went down quite a ways and was perfect to shield Cora's eyes from the sun (though not as low as some other strollers). There's also a medium-sized mesh peek-aboo window that closes magnetically and adheres to the canopy rather than using noisy Velcro.

The Minu weighs less than 15 pounds and comes with an integrated handle for simple transport. It also has a shoulder strap. It can be tucked away in the trunk of your car and comes with a storage case and Uppababy TravelSafe, which extends the warranty of the manufacturer by two years and covers repairs if the item is damaged during travel.

5. Joovy Aire

Joovy is an established stroller brand, produces various models. This light model is a good option for parents looking for an all-purpose stroller that can carry children around, has plenty of storage, is fairly easy to maneuver and doesn't require a high engineering degree to fold. It's not the ideal choice if you want a car seat-compatible model, or a double stroller, though. It isn't compatible with infant car seats. Your children must be able sit up on their backs before you can use it.

This stroller is loaded with features and comes at a price that is very reasonable. It scored higher on our maneuverability test than other strollers with similar specs. It's also a great choice for smooth surfaces. It also comes with a great canopy and plenty of storage, including a large parent tray. The handlebar is a bit smaller than average and the front wheel suspension is more rigid but it's still suitable for adults.

If you have twins or two children of different ages, you might discover that a stroller with a side-byside feature is the best option to get them around. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove, which offers plenty of features and a narrow footprint that can fit where most other side-by-side alternatives won't.

It has a large canopy, with a peek-aboo window and plenty of storage. It's a bit heavier than other side-by-sides however it has a decent weight capacity and can be used by children up to 50 lbs. You can even add a bassinet to the front of the stroller for infants.

If you are looking for a more luxurious version this stroller the Caboose RS Sit and Stand Stroller is a worthy alternative. It has the same fantastic features and is able to be fitted with a bassinet so that you can take your baby home in style from the hospital.
