World of Warcraft - item upgrade Upgrading

The item upgrade lets players boost the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you decide to take them to the Kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like an ideally rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. A lot of weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a single unit. In certain instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is generally beneficial but it can also have negative consequences too. For items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them could render them useless unless you get a lucky roll.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to improve their stats. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes roll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button with arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will reroll the item and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make all the difference to your survival. Certain sets offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult terrains. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you get from every point of health and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as possible.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and to unlock each fountain, you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. You'll need anywhere between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a decent-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few of your friends.

You can't upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor for physical strength or spell power. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also unlock some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have some improvements to the chest armor and helmets that let you stealthy battle some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, give a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.

Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table or in the Alchemist's chest. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.

To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI where you can choose the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

There were some changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. For instance, splash potions now have the duration of 0:08 (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item level upgrade). The table for potion is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. This is the same for using a potion in an empty cauldron. This will deplete the liquid, and then refill the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions that are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The potion table is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, for instance, the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. It could be a reference to an object or ornament that serves a function but isn't particularly significant, such as a thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket can be used to express friendship or affection between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons, armor, and potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Unlike other item upgrader upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their status.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available using tokens, gold, or fragments from trinkets that are rare.

Upgrades to trinkets are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new ones. It can be done by the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl of the older one, and include an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded once the old ones are not needed, allowing a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are upgraded first before their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment that won't be replacing in the near future (such as a ring or an cloak). When deciding which items to upgrade players should take into account the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm and shoulders.

After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1percent bonus. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying a new one.
