Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the most effective ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon large-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upp your items effectively.

Upgrades to equipment give an additional bonus to the item's stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component's level and rarity.

Components

upgrade item components are the things that improve your armor and weapons more effective. They can be found through destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in item-spheres. You can also get them from equipment that has the components, or by utilizing high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items upgrades aren't destroyed when they are removed from an item.

The main function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded but they also serve other functions. They can be stacked to boost the value of an upgradeable item, or they can be used to increase the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be made to offer additional benefits. For instance, a created glyph can increase the upgrade chance of its target, while the boost upgrade can increase the attack or defense attribute of a weapon or armor.

Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. This will show an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. Alternatively, you can utilize the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item can gain when upgraded with that component. Organic components, like, have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. It is therefore recommended to upgrade with organic components until you reach the multiplier of experience for the next rank of equipment or weapon, and then switch to mechanical upgrades.

Each item has an upgrade limit number that can be received. The number of upgrades are determined by its upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. For instance, the most expensive possible weapon upgrade items is a tier 10 weapon. However, the most popular upgrade for weapons is a tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of items which all have the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once and the upgrade increases the amount of bonuses that are guaranteed. When you first upgrade a set piece or weapon is that it will be given an increase of +1 to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be increased a bit more (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+) Each time you upgrade the item with an additional stats will be increased randomly.

Upgrades can also boost the damage base of a weapon. This can be crucial for certain builds. However, weapons are not upgraded to have a higher maximum defense roll than their normal base. Upgrades can be a great method to increase the value of some set and unique items, however it's important to note that they may not be better than a high-level runeword in any build.

If an item you're upgrading comes with a guaranteed bonus it is able to be rerolled once and its guarantee will be reset to 0. The same amount of power die is used to roll an item as it would be used to level it up. However the new item comes with different bonuses. Upgrading can be done through the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the appropriate amount of Minerals and Erons. Rerolling

Reroll tokens are sold in the store for a small amount of in-game currency. They are not refundable. The new item upgrade will have the same extra bonuses as the original, but the stats will differ.

Players can change the identity of equipment in addition to changing it's roll by interfacing with an NPC upgrader. This will change its identification from a weapon to an armor, or vice versa. The base stats and requirements will remain the same. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who own the equipment.

Players can also increase the item level of any equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade components and communicating with the NPC who upgrades the item. The cost will differ based on the upgrade track, the item type and number of crests. Each step will give 5percent more damage to weapons.

Upgrades can increase the power of an item, but they also decrease the quality of an item. Therefore, it is crucial to keep both in check. In addition to the base ilvl increase it will also get upgrades in other stats such as critical strike damage, damage from PvE and block, parry and dodge rating. These upgrades are also based on the upgrade template.

The amount of damage and defense that the item will receive when leveled up can be seen below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. Aside from practice equipment, all armor and weapons gain the same stats when they are leveled up. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor that has perfect rolls can command an incredibly higher price than an unupp'd version. The same applies to other armor pieces, like tiaras and circlets.
