WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrader kit that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade items your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using an button, which will display an item's preview when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item level upgrade, cool training, is upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and an issue.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading further items to that same item level will cost less even when they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item upgrading level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality gear.
