Albums

The discography of American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and numerous compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed the members of the group played session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a change from the more progressive sound of their previous albums, and was criticised for its lack of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned, and the band held auditions to find a new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The band dug through old recordings and tapes to create the special record. The album was well-received by fans and the band embarked upon the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as drummer on the tour for the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included tour recordings and also an interview with the group.
