I should be able to say, "Say distance to BOSOX," and get a voice response. And the voice annunciator? But the new gauge, which I trust, shows that the old gauge is ridiculously inaccurate. That 27-year-old oil temperature gauge was as inaccurate as the fuel pressure gauge, it seems. Interestingly, the digital gauge indicates from 2.3-5 psi, depending on throttle position and whether the electric fuel pump is running. Having minimal IFR equipment will let me depart without scud running. For a good reason: software is executed on hardware, so to guarantee it will behave like you expect, you need to prove that the hardware (ATMega in your case) AND the software (code you wrote, libs you used, compiler, linker, etc… EVERYTHING!) has been designed with safety in consideration. I'd like to replace all the engine instruments, but I haven't gotten to that yet. I wrote about replacing the suction instruments, but I haven't done anything about it yet. If your laptop computer failed as often as your suction pump, you'd scream bloody murder. LAN cables are used in the setup system of a computer lab in schools and universities so that students can easily access the Internet for steady and reliable research and learning.

These cables are replaced by USB cables because USB cables can be plugged in very easily. I replaced the COM antenna, and it seems better. The original gauge indicates exactly as it always has, so I know the pressure hasn't changed. I don't know whether FAA would approve of the gyros going down with the charging system, but there's no reason why not. I'll let you know if we ever get going on this stuff. Copper is easily available but sometimes aluminum is also used in cable as it is more cheaper than copper and a good conductor. At high frequencies, current tends to run along the surface of the conductor. How do you rewire a 240 volt 30amp plug to run 120 volt 30 amp? Evidently there's plenty of pressure to run the engine.

I bought the model that includes fuel pressure, so now I have a digital fuel pressure device to complement the original gauge. Chief sells the EI FP-5 for $839.50, or $949.50 with the fuel pressure option. I've installed the Electronics International FP-5 fuel flow device, which is a great help. Modern electronics are far more reliable than complicated mechanical instruments manufactured in ridiculously small volume. More AE phones to follow! Coaxial cables are more affordable and have a larger bandwidth than FOC or fiber optic lines. Instead of following such "best practices" it's much more intellectually robust to come up with your own threat model - then you can decide your own concrete steps instead of just following the security steps of others which might be inapplicable or even wrong. Winshing you the best. Check sheath labeling for gauge and circuit specifics. But the original gauge indicates 4-5 psi regardless! It indicates that the oil is somewhat hot, but not at red line. Then in the past few weeks the oil temperature began to indicate red line!
