Line-up

The album's third, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet format of previous albums and was a more powerful, consistent effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The edgier sound of Turn Back reflected the development of the group. Bobby Kimball's growing proficiency was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. David Paich's work was sharper, more intricate and less cloying than previously recorded efforts.

After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live show in Amsterdam which was released as a set of two CDs called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
