Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon Brothers

Zeus, lord of the skies is a charming and paternal god who has an inflated ego. He is cunning, superb and has a great power of leadership.

He presides over kingship as well as the sky, lightning and thunder. He also controls the sea, earthquakes and metals. His brother Hades presides over the underworld.

How did they become Gods?

The Greeks developed mythology rich in detail that was a mixture of pre- Greek culture and pre-Greek Mediterranean beliefs, and other cultures they interacted with as they conquered and spread throughout their lands. This was especially applicable to their gods. Zeus, Poseidon and Hades were often depicted with very similar personalities and stories, as well as depictions. This could be due to conventions in art, the fact that the brothers were related, or the different stories told in different regions.

Zeus was the first Olympian to overthrow Cronus the father of their children. Afraid that one of his children would overthrow him, Cronus swallowed Zeus' brothers and sisters at birth. His wife Rhea was capable of sneaking out of the birth canal and save her son, and Zeus was the only child of Cronus to survive.

When the Titans were defeated Zeus and his brothers divided their power among them. Zeus took over the skies, and his brother Poseidon was given the throne over the seas.

Hades attracted the worst of his siblings and became the ruler of the underworld. Hades is often depicted as a grim, ghastly figure that inspires fear and awe in all who come across him. Cerberus is often seen with him, the three-headed canine that guards his realm. He wears the Helm of Darkness and wields the bident (which is like Poseidon's tridents).

The ancient Greeks believed that the underworld was more of a spiritual realm rather than an actual hell. Hades was responsible for watching over the souls and lives of mortal men, women, and children who died. He is also tasked with creating life, and bring rain to those who need it.

Zeus is the god of heaven and leader of the Olympian Gods. He is often depicted with a beard and a tridents in his hand. He is a powerful and imposing god with the skin tone of a tan. His beard and hair are light brown and he wears loose robes that show off his muscular physique. He prefers to use a trident and carries a lightning bolt.

What are their powers?

While they share a number of similar characteristics, Zeus and Poseidon are very different from one another. They each have their own strengths and powers which allow them to fulfill their roles in the pantheon. Persephone is the most well-known of their stories. She was the daughter of Demeter and Zeus and was taken by Hades to be his wife. Hades was enthralled by her despite her initial resistance. Hades struck a deal with her. He would let her return to his underworld if she spent just a fraction each year with him.

Persephone was reluctant to leave her earthly life and return to the realm of her father. She eventually complied with the terms. Hades was allowed to travel above the ground for a couple of times.

How do they interact?

Zeus and Poseidon are two of the gods with the most power in mythology. They are the sons Titan King Cronus, and his wife Rhea. They overthrew their father to become the supreme rulers in Olympus. They divided their power and each was in charge of each part of the universe. Zeus got the sky, kingship and dominion of the seas, while Poseidon was granted the sky.

Although the brothers are close, they do battle with one another. Zeus is the oldest and most powerful of the three, and as such, Zeus is the one who dominates his brother in all situations. He is also the most brutal and violent of the Olympians, so he uses his powers to punish mortals who annoy or frighten him.

He is a wonderful father, but he also considers his daughter Hera as the most important of his children. She is a wonderful companion and counselor. He values her highly. She is also strong enough to stand up against her father's reckless and impulsive behavior.

In contrast to his sister, Hades doesn't seem to have the same traits as Zeus. In some myths, Hades seems to lust after and admire the power Zeus has. However, in other myths Hades behaves in a snarky manner towards his brother. He also shows false condolences for his brother's kidnapping of Persephone and makes it clear that he's really not concerned about the girl's disappearance.

Poseidon is the king of seas, and earthquakes can trigger earthquakes tsunamis, and storm surges. To demonstrate his power, he is often shown by his trident. He is also the king of horses and is able to take control of any animal within his realm. This includes sea and land animals.

He is also a god of the Underworld. This means he has the power to summon souls or exile them from life on Earth. He is often portrayed with Cerberus the dog with three heads with him. He also holds the throne for the dead. This means that he is able to determine the fate of souls and send them either to paradise or to hell.

What is their relationship?

Zeus, Hades and Poseidon were the three gods born to Titan king Cronus and his sister Queen Rhea. During her time with Demeter she began to neglect her duties as the goddess of fertility. This was arousing Hades. He determined to get her back. He tricked her by changing himself into a disheveled cuckoo. Knowing her sympathy for animals he held the bird to her breast and she fell in love with him. He then returned to his original form and then mated her.

After the marriage, Hades was a loving husband and father to their three children. He was unsure of his place on Mount Olympus. He wanted to be the focal point for a moment. He proposed to the other gods that he bring hell up to earth. After days of discussion, they finally agreed.

While Hestia is a goddess of peace, her role is to keep the other Olympians in control. She is also the patron goddess of marriage, and takes special care of married women. She was a religious woman, but she had several affairs with her sister's husband Zeus. She had children with nymphs and mortals including Triton, Theseus, Orion, and Pegasus.
