Sunshine's Coaches for Business Coaches of Sunshine consult on a one-on-1 basis with entrepreneurs to decide what kind of money is required and to devise an action plan. Additionally, Sunshine works with a group of financial partners, including Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, Byline Bank, CIBC Bank and Wintrust Community Bank among many other organizations.

The concept of Rising Tide Capital is the foundation of the non-profit's operations. President Obama has recognized Rising Tide Capital for their Community Business Academy which has contributed to the revitalization of communities and transform the lives of people. 94% of the graduates went on to establish new businesses or create jobs.

Sunshine Enterprises also provides support local entrepreneurs with UChicago Local. This collaboration between the University together with UChicago Medicine enables realigning procurement departments in order to utilize more local vendors who provide competitive bids and help to grow small businesses in the Chicago economy while simultaneously contributing to projects that impact the social environment at the university. UChicago Local links Sunshine Enterprises that supports local Chicago entrepreneurs, by partnering with programs such as Chicago Innovation Exchange and Institute for Justice Clinic Entrepreneurship at Law School in order to expand possibilities.

Incubatoredu

INCubatoredu gives students an experience that is authentically entrepreneurial when they design their own startup company. Every class is accompanied by a mentor or coach to help students navigate the course and help with projects related to washable foot insoles, or social applications; Students have plenty of opportunities to experiment with ideas, while employing lean management principles.

As student teams progress through the program students learn to refine and strengthen the ideas of their startups through customer and idea exploration, market research, prototype building, and pitching. This process fosters cooperation, collaboration, and problem-solving capabilities, as well as teaching students how quickly they can adapt to changes.

At the end of every year, each team participates in the INCubatoredu National Pitch to compete to raise seed money for their new ventures. This event provides teams with invaluable networking opportunities with investors as well as helpful advice from top business executives and is a renowned event for the shark tank-style pitching sessions.
