Albums

The discography of the American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, 4 live albums, and numerous compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The band has won multiple Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band played sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.

Toto's third album, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their earlier albums and was criticized for its absence of hit singles. In 1985, lead singer Fergie Frederiksen quit the group The group held auditions for the new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their album Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark the 20th anniversary of the band. The band went through old tapes and recordings to create the unique record. The album was well-received by fans and the band embarked upon an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set titled Falling in Between, which included recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.
