The iRobot Roomba 980 Robot Vacuum Cleaner

Robot vacuums sweep pet hair, lint and dust from floors before they settle. They also can avoid obstacles such as furniture that is unstable and staircases.

Most robotic vacuums require regular maintenance. This includes emptying the bin (and sometimes, rinsing it) and wiping the cameras and sensors. They also need to be plugged in. A lot of them have apps for best Lidar vacuum smartphones for scheduling, adjusting settings and more.

The iRobot Roomba 980, the latest in a series of top-of-the-line best robot hoover vacuums, is a staple for every modern home. This model is extremely powerful suction as well as a HEPA filter that can help anyone concerned about allergies. Additionally it also has a strong battery which can clean for up to two hours, and it will automatically return to its dock once its bin is full.

Smart mapping is a different feature that assists in identifying areas in your home that require attention, and then creates a path for cleaning around them. We've seen this technology in action and it does an excellent job of maneuvering around toys that are placed on the floor, or furniture legs that are sticking out from under the furniture. It also has a camera sensor that will snap the Roomba back to the real world when it begins to drift from its intended location.

iRobot also added a set of rollers underneath the Roomba that don't have bristles which makes them more likely to resist the tangles that previous models. They're also taller than older rollers, and will fit better under low couches and beds and are designed to help this model navigate more easily on varying floor kinds.

The Roomba 980 stands out from other models of high-end quality due to its latest dirt detection feature, which makes use of cameras to detect dirt embedded. This is a significant improvement over the previous model that relied on the use of a sensor-driven pseudorandom cover to bounce around the room, and then clean everything three times at different angles.

In our tests of its performance it was found that the Roomba 980 did well on both hard flooring and carpets. Its score on low pile carpet was impressive, and it also scored a good score on mid pile, too. It did a great job getting rid of pet hair, but struggled with thick and long pet hair that was stuck together.

Despite these slight limitations, the Roomba 980 remains one of our most efficient robots, and isn't even far from being as costly as some of the other Top Robot Vacuum cleaner models on this list. It comes with many of the features you would expect from a flagship model, but it doesn't have all the fancy apps or smart home integrations you'll get from other top models.

The iRobot Roomba can be set up in a matter of minutes and is ready to use immediately. After removing the pull tab for the battery and yellow bin insert from undercarriage, all you have to do is plug it into its Home Base docking station or an outlet on the wall, press its big "Clean" button and let it go to work. It will automatically return to its dock when it runs out of battery or becomes full of debris. There are also indicators at the top of the bin that let you know the bin is empty, or when it needs to recharge, or when it loses its Wi-Fi.
