Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.

Players can recycle six items at once to gauge each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items scales with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the effectiveness of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved through a number of means, including the use of upgrade components and also upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. Additionally to this, many items can be reforged, which can boost their stats even more.

Upgradable items can be found throughout the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. Each glyph increases the value of a stat by a certain range. This is displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is not the actual amount by the glyph can increase the stat, but rather the maximum value by which it is able to do so. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier as well as the quality of the item you are in awe of.

The majority of upgrade components that are inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without dismantling them except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will destroy the item in which it is installed however, you can salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its shards so this should not be considered as a loss.

Adding a glyph to an item level upgrade could cause it to be unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory once you take it down. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to increase its value. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for players who suffer many hits from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens permit players to change the affixes of their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained through a variety of methods such as in mistery boxes or as rare drops from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll token gives players a new random affix, which is typically better than the original one. Reroll tokens are also a great way to reroll weapon stats, which can be upgraded for better damage or perks.

Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they can still receive upgrades. If you click the "upgrade button" you can recycle the recycled items. This will change the appearance of the window for the item and let up to six items to be selected for recycling. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable to recycle than items with lower levels.

Rerolling is a great option to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware that the total ilvl will be diminished by the number of rerolls it took to get it to the final ilvl. This is evident on Diadems and Rings, because they are the only options to raise the ilvl.

The reroll system has been criticized by players as being too expensive and it's more reasonable to let players pay for it with money or food items that allows them to change their builds without spending too much time and energy. However paying for rerolls is not something the developers want to implement at this time in the game's development. They're planning to include a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are many ways to boost the value of an upgrade to an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount, which increases the value of an upgrade for a given stat.
