It's a bit tricky to test since there are different pins on the connector and each one has different functions. The most effective method to test it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. It should read around 1000 ohms when the sensor is at full operation. If you're experiencing issues with this component, look for evidence of coolant or oil in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday accelerating full speed from highway paytoll, I experienced an abrupt drop in power like the engine is running out of gas or injectors aren't firing any more. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning, 3 were soaked in gasoline, and the fourth was dry. When I start the engine without sparks, i place a tissue on the top of each hole in the injector, the 3 drenched with gazoline leap out, however the 4th stay closed. I tested the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55, 30/55 and 48/55. I got zero ohm. So i assume the problem is in another place.
I also tried to reset PID without success. The car will start if the G28 is not plugged in and is running fine when it is plugged in, but still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The coolant temperature sensor (G62) shows the wrong temperature value of that is -49c even after unplugging it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars when the actual pressure is zero.
I'm not sure what to do. I feel like i've pretty much eliminated everything else. I'm worried that i might have missed something. Let me know should you have any suggestions! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump on the g28 is activated by a signal by the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is the same as the G4 and both function in the 80, 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a wrecking yard or at a parts store.
