UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors get worn out over time and will need to be replaced. It is important to keep the same dimensions as the old handles when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc functions differently than lever handles on doors. These handle types are either operated by one spindle, or two spindles inline or offset. They are generally used on UPVC double glazing windows handles-glazed doors and come in many variations & styles.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes, including White chrome, and Gold. The finish is compliant with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for its intended use.

All UPVC handle lever pads come with a spindle, screws, and can be fitted on a uPVC door. The backplate fixation centres of 211mm allow for a bigger handle, which is often an advantage when replacing an old or damaged multi-point conservatory door handles lock mechanism. These handle levers are also spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of handles that slide out of their horizontal position when they are not in use.

It is crucial to match the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when selecting the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also referred to as the 'handle centre' or 'cylinder centres and is an essential aspect to match the correct handles.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other types of doors. Cylinder locks are operated by using a key that unlocks the cylinder case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned with those inside the lock, allowing them to turn the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.

Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is essential; it is dependent on how your doors and window handle replacement are utilized. For instance, exterior doors must be secured with a more secure cylinder while internal doors can be secured using a standard cylinder. Certain cylinders come with extra features that can improve security, for instance, anti drill or anti bump properties.

A euro cylinder must be properly measured to ensure it is the right size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, in the event that one is present. If you are unable to measure using the lock in its position, you can take it out of it. It is crucial to avoid having a cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.

The design of most newer cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the chances of an attack by causing the cylinder to rotate in a different direction. This can help to deflect an attack and protect your door.

Certain cylinders are constructed to resist snapping. Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is situated within the base plate of your door handle. It is a spring-loaded solution to return your multipoint lock handles back to their normal position after use. The handles had no spring, and would slide when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This component is the best way to solve this issue. It also helps prevent your door from becoming stuck in either the open or closed position as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a sprung multipoint lock. They will not fit handles that aren't sprung and you'll have to cut a hole into your backplate for them to fit. (Please look at the image for a detailed diagram). These cassettes are a solution to damaged or missing cassettes that are in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are supplied in a single unit. They have a square-cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
