French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is roughly on the same as a French door fridge costing this much. It comes with a decent size icemaker in the left door. But it's not the biggest one I've seen.

You can alter the shelves in both compartments to make an individual storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is also attractive. The LED lighting is a nice addition and the inside storage bins come with an additional shelf that folds up beneath itself so that you can store items that are tall. The drawers come with temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, although I found their plastic textured coatings to be a bit difficult on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator within this price range. It has Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices can let you control your refrigerator from anywhere in the world, and it has a ton of customization options. It also gives you notifications when a door is left open, when your fridge or freezer needs defrosting and when it's time to change the filter.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill, an option available in other GE fridges that allows you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at a time. The fridge displays a countdown timer to reveal how much water remains but it's not as useful as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth fridge is a great choice for those who need lots of space within a small frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the refrigerator has an ordinary french fridge freezer with ice maker-door design with gallon-sized door bins at each door as well as two rows of spill-capture shelves, and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded down to give taller items more space. There's also a full-width drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

The refrigerator comes with an ice maker making it easy to move the ice when needed. The freezer also features innovative design features like sliding drawers that can help you sort your things. It also has a large bin that holds plenty of frozen food items and a separate ice storage bin.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can control the temperature, lighting and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's an easy way to keep track of your fridge and manage it, especially when away from home.

But while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it does not necessarily enhance the overall performance of the refrigerator. The fridge took a bit longer to chill food and defrost it than the other fridges we tested. This is likely due to its bigger capacity.

The doors are another problem with this fridge. They have sunken handles at the front, which allows smaller people to pull them open from the bottom, however they're not easy for taller people to guide closed without slamming them. It would have been better if they had a front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent option for those looking to blend the aesthetics of a French-door refrigerator with an efficient design. It has a capacity that is higher than average for counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also less expensive than the best counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which helps make it a popular choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door fridge that doesn't cost you a fortune, this Frigidaire is a good choice. It has a simple design that isn't as visually striking as some of the competition however it comes with enough features that make it a great choice. Its most important feature is the temperature adjustable drawer that helps keep food items like veggies and meat fresher for longer. It also has a large water dispenser as well as a good Ice machine that is fast.

The "Chill Drawer", which is situated above the two crisper bins, is another nice feature. This drawer lets you use the majority of your fridge's cooling power into the area so that you can store foods that require extra attention. This feature can be adjusted by using a slider on the outside of the drawer. You can also adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the generic settings are more effective than the specific ones.

In my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator stayed fairly consistent across different areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary much from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. That's a good performance, but it doesn't quite make it into the top ten in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be paired with a smart thermostat to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of grey-bodied stainless that has a "smudge proof" finish. It repels fingerprints and streaks better than other stainless steel finishes I've seen.
